Another Amazing Trump Record: Most Fake Impeachments Ever

With 2020 firmly in our rearview mirror, I find it odd that there are two classes of prominent 2020 people that I have never met. Those who know me know that I’m not a hermit by any stretch of the imagination. I live in the most populous, overcrowded (and liberal) state in the US. My large, sprawling family stretches from sea to shining sea and beyond, and is populated by farmers, geologists, engineers, public school teachers, doctors, lawyers, dentists and outlaws. And yet despite all those connections in this country, I have yet to encounter two specific types of 2020 Americans: Anyone who has actually had COVID, and anyone who voted for Joe Biden.

The images coming out of the US Capitol this week have been positively surreal. Hundreds of armed National Guard soldiers are sleeping on the marble floors of the Capitol. Now that America is officially a banana republic – complete with fake elections – you have to wonder if those troops are going to be a permanent fixture of Congress. Maybe they should be, after Congress moved to impeach the most popular president in American history for a second time.

It feels like we’re living in upside-down world right now. I have yet to see a single Republican Member of Congress in the House or Senate declare that the mild kerfuffle at the Capitol was not an insurrection, a seditious coup attempt, a riot or a violent protest. This is beyond disgusting. Even though 197 House Republicans voted NOT to impeach Donald Trump for a second time this week, not a single one of them objected to the Democrat Party classifying the 2 million pro-Trump protesters in DC last week as “insurrectionists” and “domestic terrorists.”

No ardent Trump supporter in Congress managed to fully denounce this purposefully dehumanizing language.

The vote to impeach President Trump for a second time in the Pelosi-controlled House passed by a vote of 232 to 197. Ten Republicans in the House joined the Democrats to impeach the president.

Liz Cheney, Anthony Gonzalez, Jamie Herrera Beutler, John Katko, Adam Kinzinger, Peter Meijer, Dan Newhouse, Tom Rice, Fred Upton and David Valadao have all ensured vicious primary challenges for themselves in 2022 by betraying 80 million Trump voters.

Recognize what’s happening right now: The Swamp uniparty is now trying to demoralize and crush your spirits. Current Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has announced that he has not yet made up his mind whether to vote in favor of convicting President Trump. If you’re of a mind to take action right now, the number for the congressional switchboard is (202) 224-3121. Ask them to connect you to the Senate Majority Leader’s office and let McConnell know your thoughts on the matter. Be polite but firm, so you’re not mistaken as a domestic terrorist.

McConnell has said he won’t call the Senate back into session until January 19, leaving no time for an impeachment trial. This is a tactical error, or maybe he’s doing it on purpose. If Mitch McConnell cared about Donald Trump’s voters at all, he’d commence the trial immediately. That way, Trump’s legal team could spend their entire three days of testimony laying out all of the evidence of Joe Biden’s 2020 electoral fraud. McConnell could have timed this so that the moment Trump’s team concludes its turn to present evidence, the clock runs out. Trump leaves office, thus eliminating any constitutional or legal standing to convict him.

It’s doubtful that Trump will be convicted at any rate. Democrats would have to convince 17 Senate Republicans to vote with them. They’ll have Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski and (probably) Susan Collins, but it’s highly doubtful that any other GOP Senators have a burning desire to commit career seppuku.

And I cannot shake the feeling that President Trump has another trick or two up his sleeve at this point. Otherwise, why is there so much demoralization theater being performed for our benefit right now?

Armed troops in the US Capitol, stationed there to kill Americans if we should protest again? Who stationed them there? It wasn’t President Trump. The Department of Defense sent them. So, the National Guard appears to be in an active mutiny against the President of the United States. Nancy Pelosi tried to get her hands on the nuclear codes last week, by inserting herself into to the chain of command (which is the black-letter definition of “sedition”). What are they so incredibly panicked about?
