Glenn Beck said something really interesting a few months ago which has stuck with me. I’ll paraphrase him: People are still getting haircuts – the only thing the lockdowns have done is create a black market. He was absolutely right. We’re coming up on something like Day 300 of “Two Weeks to Flatten the Curve” and small businesses are still being strangled in states that are unfortunate enough to have Democrats in charge.

If you’re fortunate enough to live in a state like Florida, where science has prevailed over pagan virus superstition, you have no idea how bad it is out here for your fellow Americans. It’s getting really desperate. If there’s one thing that should give us all hope, however – it’s the fact that so many COVID speakeasies are in operation.

Chicago City Council Alderman Tom Tunney (D) was caught running a COVID speakeasy out of one of his restaurants last month. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D), who has his state on perpetual lockdown, has forbidden dining inside of a restaurant for quite some time now. Tunney was trying to keep his restaurant afloat, so he was serving customers in the VIP room which is not visible from the street.

Photos turned up on a local blog after someone ratted Tunney out. The individual took pictures of their breakfast at Tunney’s speakeasy, with other customers clearly visible inside the VIP room. Tunney will likely lose his seat on the City Council over the “scandal” in which he tried to keep his business open and his employees paid.

I guess we’re supposed to think of Tunney as the bad guy in this story. But I don’t see it that way. Sure, he’s a Democrat, but it’s not like he was issuing a Shelter in Place order and then jetting off to Boca Raton, like so many of the mayors and governors who have behaved terribly during this bad flu season.

Multiple speakeasies were busted just this past weekend in New Jersey, where Governor Phil Murphy (D) is ruthlessly cracking down on people trying to make a living. Two women were arrested for setting up a makeshift bar inside a warehouse. More than a hundred people inside were eating, drinking and gambling when the cops showed up. The women were charged for running a bar without a liquor license, and obviously for violating Phil Murphy’s ban on gatherings with more than 10 people.

The three owners of a hookah lounge in Newark were also arrested over the weekend. They were serving booze to a group of more than 50 people – plus, they were in violation of Murphy’s 10 p.m. curfew. As every witch doctor from the jungle with a bone through his nose can tell you, coronavirus is more vigorous and spreads more easily after 10 p.m.

God bless the speakeasy operators who have the courage to defy these tyrants. Just so we’re clear: The only way the people will ever get our power back from these politicians is by taking it back. Defy them at every step. They have no legal authority to shut any of us down from making a living – especially now that we know the virus is not seriously lethal to 99% of the people.

We got played by China. Can we finally admit that? Think back to a year ago: Remember all those videos coming out of Communist China? There were healthy 20-year-olds collapsing in the street from a mysterious new virus.

Those were all FAKE – but they served their purpose, which was to spook the rest of the world into imposing shutdowns on their economies.

We now know that people in their 20s or younger are unlikely to even develop the sniffles from the Wuhan flu. But Democrats will never relinquish their newfound COVID powers. They’re already moving the goalposts and telling us that we will have to wear masks forever – even if tons of people get vaccinated.

How’s that vaccine rollout going, by the way? Oh, right. More than 50% of healthcare workers in California are refusing to take the shot.

These people will never give us our rights and freedoms back. They’re having too much fun bossing us around. The only way we’ll get it back is if we show the same backbone that the speakeasy operators are showing. Take your power back! Cut hair. Sell booze. Do what you have to do. You are an American and it is your right.
